Self-taught sculptor, Jean Paul Floch immortalizes the human body through bronze, without any model nor sketches.

Born on 20th October 1949 in Guer, in Brittany, he learnt to create things from early childhood in the wooden toy workshop belonging to his parents.

He start studying physiotherapy and at the same time he tried out woodcarving.

In 1977, he became a physiotherapist, leaving sculpture aside for 25 years.

Very sensitive to the magic of the subtle and invisible processes of healing, through observation and work, he discovered how the physical body that one can see is in harmony with the anatomy of the underlying organs, muscles, bones and tendons that cannot be seen, but which can be felt by his hands. He then realized that this harmony follows very specific laws and phenomena.

It is this perpetually changing physical harmonisation (with each breath one might say) that expresses the real emotion in the inert substance of bronze. He therefore decided to never deform, or caricaturize the spirit's clothing; the human body.
