Having studied the anatomic illogicality of the portrait of Mona Lisa, I would like to suggest my decoding of it.
The probably spiritual elevation of the artistic inspiration of Leonardo da Vinci transcends his own human feelings at the source of his inner growth.
The Mona Lisa is no longer as only Lisa Gherardini. In this painting, Leonardo da Vinci has also projected the expression of his own inner progression in the quest for Light. He merged himself, partly one could say, into the traits of Lisa Gherardini conveying thus the change in his moods to the end of his life. But how did he do it?
The fusion of 2 souls is really emanating from this perfect harmonization. Leonardo da Vinci had concealed a symbol, which an unquestionable anatomical reading allows to decipher (cf.infrared photo). He had modified the position of 2 fingers of the left hand, say researchers of the Louvre.
He had not modified only that. He also lightly lifted the metacarpal bones of these 2 fingers. It looks like if Mona Lisa had been grasping something close to her left palm. Probably a thin handkerchief had rolled into a ball underneath. The weight of the completely relaxed right hand therefor had caused these 2 fingers to lift, due to the handkerchief wedged under the left hand.
Perhaps some tears had Mona Lisa just dried up? Would it not be a subtly hidden symbol relating to the suffering from love for her painter, that wich is forbidden in this material world ? Would it not be as well a mystic hidden symbol of Leonardo da Vinci's suffering incarnate soul for being separed from the WHOLE ?
An American multimillionaire wanted to prove that the Mona Lisa was an auto portrait of Leonardo. She was partially right, in my opinion. However, this is impossible to prove scientifically by the morphological study of the face. Indeed, Leonardo da Vinci conveys his own aspirations, but only through the modified left half of Lisa Gherardini's face. This is very important to take into consideration.
