The Mona Lisa-Leonardo da Vinci-Creative Process..
My description of the creative process used in the portrait of Mona Lisa in no way is a claim to understanding the secrets of the heart and thoughts of Leonardo da Vinci.
It is only my perception, the perception of a creator, in the light of the creative process used for my own sculptures. This is particularly so, since I do not draw and I never create in imitation of a model. It therefore seems to me getting a line on the realization of the painting called the Mona Lisa.
So, I am not referring to the technical creation and application of colours of which I know nothing. This is a field for scientists. Progress in science has recently brought us very interesting information on the technical skills of Leonardo da Vinci. We now know that he painted directly on wood without making a sketch.
However, no measuring instrument could ever examine the heart and thoughts of the creator of this masterpiece. One can only make suppositions.
Of course, no supposition or hypothesis can lay claim to the truth. Everyone interprets according to their experience. This is true in all areas, since the dawn of time and Leonardo da Vinci knew this well.
